Observed reason for the visibility drop
The largest observed loss came from URL ownership changing around the Ahrefs/Semrush comparison. The previous URL /semrush-vs-ahrefs-2026/ recorded 16,004 impressions in the earlier window, but it now redirects to the canonical /ahrefs-vs-semrush-2026/ path. The canonical change was compounded by 22 published internal links that still pointed to the old URL. Those links have now been corrected.
| Signal | What we observed | How to read it |
|---|---|---|
| Old URL | 16,004 earlier impressions; 1,736 in the latest window | Visibility did not disappear cleanly; Google is still reconciling URL ownership. |
| Canonical URL | Separate current visibility is still limited | Internal links now point to the canonical path; recrawl and consolidation are still required. |
| Sitewide result | Clicks rose while impressions fell | This is a visibility and URL-mix problem, not proof of a sitewide penalty or algorithm cause. |
Next verification: Recheck both URLs after the next complete crawl window. Do not claim that the repair restored rankings until Search Console shows the canonical URL receiving the relevant queries and impressions.

Practical experience beats polished theory.
After scaling my own D2C e-commerce brands and building private software for Shopify merchants, I saw that most SEO agencies were selling guesswork. I founded GSA Growth to change that — with GSA Growth as the operating company behind it. We combine proprietary data-extraction tools with battle-tested implementation to fix what is broken and scale what works. We do not just send PDF reports; we build organic revenue engines.

Who this is for
- A business owner choosing a page, a provider or a next action.
- A marketer who has to explain the evidence without overclaiming.
- A founder comparing a local, national or ecommerce decision.
- An operator who needs a dated check before spending more.
How to choose the next page
| Question | Start with | What it does not prove |
|---|---|---|
| Which page should own the query? | The page that answers the job, not the broadest page. | That one page will win every variation. |
| What proof can the business show? | A dated example, a real service area and a clear process. | That every buyer will trust the same proof. |
| What should be measured? | The page, the query, the date window and the next action. | That a movement was caused by one change. |
How to use this hub
- Name the reader. One owner, one market and one decision.
- Choose the page owner. One URL should answer the question.
- Check the proof. Show what the business can verify, not what it hopes.
- Set a review date. Compare the same page and window later.
What to check first
- Does the page name the service, the area and the next action?
- Can a buyer check the proof without a sales call?
- Does the profile, page and enquiry path agree?
- Is the page in the sitemap and reachable from the hub?
- Does the report separate observation, interpretation and unknown?
What this hub will not prove
It will not prove that a page will rank, that a provider is the best fit, or that a change will produce a lead. It can only make the decision and the evidence clearer. Public search data cannot see private enquiries, sales calls, margin or capacity.
Use this hub to choose the next inspection, then measure the same page and query after a fixed window. Do not treat a single result as a forecast.
FAQ
Where should I start?
Start with the page that matches the decision in front of you. The first link in the cluster is usually the broadest; the later links are more specific.
Does this hub guarantee rankings or traffic?
No. It explains how to inspect and decide. It does not promise a ranking, traffic, lead, sale or revenue result.
How often should I review it?
Use a fixed window that matches the change and the demand cycle. Do not change several layers and then compare them at once.
Can one page cover all of it?
Usually not. A page can introduce the decision, but each market, service and buyer question needs a clear owner.
